Dr. Christel Slaughter is a partner and a co‐owner of SSA Consultants, a management consulting and organizational development firm. Dr. Slaughter joined SSA Consultants in 1983 after spending seven years as a faculty member at LSU. Since then, she has been instrumental in guiding and implementing strategic direction for hundreds of organizations, both regionally and nationwide.
Dr. Slaughter’s expertise is rooted in change management, performance improvement, strategic planning, training design and delivery, facilitation services, executive coaching and counseling, and organizational assessment. Additionally, she has helped numerous Boards of Directors, executive management teams, and non‐profit leadership committees with training and facilitated group sessions involving leadership training, team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
Some of her work includes guiding the cultural and organizational transformation of a publicly‐traded community bank, designing and implementing an award‐winning customer service program for a large healthcare institution, developing and conducting a diversity awareness program for a multi‐national chemical plant, and designing integration strategies for the state of Louisiana’s multi‐billion dollar coastal protection and restoration efforts.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Slaughter earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and received her Doctorate at 25 years of age from the College of Business at Louisiana State University in Systems Management and Organizational Design. In 2010 she was inducted into the E. J. Ourso College of Business Hall of Distinction that recognizes “individuals who make significant contributions to business, academia, or government as well as to their community.”
