Anselmo R. Rodriguez, native of Venezuela, has been a resident of Louisiana for 30 years. He obtained his B.S. in Computer Science from LSU in 1985 and his MBA from Southeastern LA University in 1995.

Speaker: Anselmo Rodriguez, Manager of Supply Chain Management at BCBSLA
Anselmo R. Rodriguez, native of Venezuela, has been a resident of Louisiana for 30 years. He obtained his B.S. in Computer Science from LSU in 1985 and his MBA from Southeastern LA University in 1995.
From 1986-1991 Anselmo worked with General Motors in Venezuela, where he managed the supply of service parts to the GM’s Venezuelan market sourced from the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Singapore, Japan and Venezuela. In 1992, Anselmo joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana where he has been for over 24 years serving in the areas of Information Technology, Budgeting and Planning and Supply Chain Management. Currently he holds the position of Manager, Supply Chain Management. In addition to Inventory Control, Corporate Purchasing Card Program and Sourcing, he is responsible for BCBSLA’s Supplier Diversity Program. Under his leadership BCBSLA has been recognized in 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013 as the Local Corporation of the Year by the SRMSDC and in 2012 and 2015 as Corporation of the Year by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana. He was also was personally recognized in 2007 as the Buyer of year by the SRMSDC. Anselmo has maintained his CPSM since 2009 and serves as a Director to the BCBS Association’s National Sourcing and Purchasing Council.
Anselmo’s past community involvement includes being the Treasurer of the Louisiana Minority Supplier Development Council and of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana. He served as member of the Interlocked Board of Directors for the new four-state area South Region Minority Supplier Development Council, Vice President 2013-2014 & President 2014-2015 of the Capital City Rotary Club in Baton Rouge, LA. He currently serves as Treasurer and Chairman of the LA Corporate Advisory Committee and member of the Certification Committee of South Region Minority Supplier Development Council. He also serves as Chairman of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana, and committee member in the Women’s Business Enterprise Council South.
